About Visas
The free and responsible practice of science necessitates freedom of movement and of association. Accordingly, international scientific meetings arranged or sponsored by IUGG, Union Associations and their bodies must be free from discrimination in attendance. This implies rights and responsibilities on the part of both organizers and participants at such international scientific meetings.
The Committee on Freedom and Responsibility in the conduct of Science (CFRS) of the International Council for Science (ICSU) issued in 2013 the recommendations for meeting organizers, sponsors and participants regarding international scientific meetings and visa issues. Scientific meeting organizers are advised to read the recommendations.
