1. Note on E-Journal distribution

This special issue of the IUGG E-Journal is being sent to the addresses used for previous issues. Over the next few weeks, the distribution lists will be reviewed and revised and will include the new IUGG Association Officers and Council Delegates from the Perugia General Assembly. Some names will be deleted from the list, but could be added again upon request. This short, informal newsletter is intended to keep IUGG Member National Committees informed about the activities of the IUGG Associations, and actions of the IUGG Secretariat. Past issues are posted on the IUGG Web site. The E-Journal may be forwarded to anyone who will benefit from the information. Comments are welcome and should be sent to the Secretary General.

3. IUGG Finance Committee members for 2007-2011

The new Finance Committee Members are Dr. David Collins (U.K.), Dr. Jan Krynski (Poland), Dr. Kiyoshi Suyehiro (Japan), and Dr. Juan Vilas (Argentina). The Committee selected Dr. Vilas as their Chair.

4. Association Presidents and Secretaries General for 2007-2011

A major decision of the 2007 Council was the addition of a new Association, the first in 85 years. It was formed from the 2005-2007 Union Commission on Cryospheric Sciences, and the officers are reported below.

5. Location of the 2011 IUGG General Assembly

The Council selected Melbourne, Australia, as the site of the 2011 IUGG General Assembly. The dates of the 25th IUGG General Assembly will be announced as soon as possible, but the first half of July is most likely.
